Europe died of thirst

It was the year 1607. Not a war, just the sky drying up and the land giving in.

What’s left over there ain’t much: just ghouls and lunatics picking through the bones. Three hundred years later, the civilized from the West saddle up.

Whiskey in one hand, cards in the other, sailing East, but not for glory, for loot and greed.

This is Weird Fronteira: a familiar, yet unknown world. An RPG that needs no dice, just a custom deck of blackjack cards. Find a stinky game master and the worst crew you can gather, and get ready to ride into withered lands.

play your hand

Forget the dice and forget the prayers. No mercy here, just cards, grit, and how steady your hand is.

In Weird Fronteira, you don’t roll and hope, you play.

Our rulebook uses a twisted take on blackjack, because chance should sweat a little too. We're not gonna make you collect cards, we ain't that soft, just any 54-cards-deck or our own custom design would do. We also need two Jokers, so what?

Check our Invaders Deck on Etsy. For the Defenders of the Fronteira deck you'll have to wait for our Kickstarter to drop.

Yes, we want you to collect both decks.

The Book

Weird Fronteira is a card-driven Role Playing Game set in an undreamed world, a world that forgot how to pray.

Born from the ashes of a dead continent and the fever dreams of two desperate minds, Weird Fronteira throws you into a post-civilization wasteland where violence speaks louder than laws, and survival is a daily gamble.

This is a rules-light, grit-heavy system that gets you playing fast. The cards are your fate and your choices dig the grave.

The stories of Weird Fronteira unfold in the scorched ruins of Europe, after the water vanished and the old gods went silent.

You won't find innovation, history books or libraries to explain the madness. No newspapers to warn you about what’s crawling behind that broken chapel down the road.

Just dust, guns, cards, and maybe a shred of your humanity left to burn.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an RPG or a deck of cards?

Both. Our idea was to launch the RPG on Kickstarter directly, but we thought about producing a custom-made deck of 54 French-suited cards first.

You'll see the RPG rulebook campaign on Kickstarter soon, and you can play the game with our custom deck, or with any 54-cards deck.

Which is the recommended age range?

The cards are just cards, so you can play any games you fancy with them.

As for the RPG, the rules ain’t rocket science. If you’ve ever rolled dice in a dungeon or swung a sword at some goblin, you’ll pick this up faster than a drunk finds the bottom of his glass.

We kept the language clean, no cussing carved into the margins, so anyone can ride along: Instagram folks, veterans, altar boys, doesn’t matter. The blood and grit? It’s there, but mostly in the shadows. Violence shows up when it needs to, then slips back into the dust.

How much does it cost?

You will be able to buy the Invaders Deck on Amazon US soon for $ 15 + shipping. We aim to enable Prime Shipping from day-1.

The Rulebook will be soon on Kickstarter and then on Amazon US as well. We plan 3 different pledges, all prices are still TBD:

  • Digital

  • B/W Softcover

  • Color Hardcover

Is this a Blackjack game? Are we playing with money?

UDS Studios LLC rides straight with the law and keeps its boots clean of shady trails.

No gambling, no betting, no back-alley rackets; none of that’s part of this journey.

Our eyes stay fixed on the real prize: building and sharing role-playing worlds meant for play, learning, and hobbyist delight. That’s the whole deal, no hidden cards.

Where is the team based?

We're all Italians and we live in three different countries. The deck of cards and the rulebook will be printed in the USA.
